David R. Barlow
Managing Director

Mr. Barlow, co-founder, oversees transaction origination, term negotiations, and the development of investor relationships. He brings over fourteen years of Mortgage Banking and Real Estate experience. David is also currently the President and Founder of True North Mortgage, a successful mortgage lending company with 12 offices in 5 States. Formerly, Mr. Barlow worked as the Executive Director for the NFL All Pro Quarterback, Steve Young's non-profit foundations as well as a Business Development and Marketing Consultant for high tech companies nationwide. He is a much sought after motivational speaker to youth leadership groups worldwide.

Colby J. Sanders
Managing Director

Mr. Sanders joins the Fortius Companies with eleven years of Mortgage Banking experience and nine years of bridge financing experience. His responsibilities include new business management, due diligence and quality control regulation. Previously, he was co-founder and President of Keystone Mortgage Group for two years and opened offices in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Hawaii before recently merging forces with True North Mortgage. For six years Mr. Sanders competed professionally in freestyle skiing competitions and from '94-‘96 was voted The Most Valuable Athlete in track for S.U.U. He graduated with a Business degree in Finance from Southern Utah University.

Steven G. Black
Legal Counsel

Mr. Black serves as legal counsel to Fortius. Mr. Black has extensive experience in sophisticated real estate and commercial finance transactions, including a 100+ acre master planned community in American Fork, Utah , and a $290,000,000 real estate development portfolio for a Fortune 100 company. Mr. Black’s primary areas of practice include real estate development, corporate law, business transactions, federal/state tax law, and tax-exempt organizations. As a former attorney for the regional law firm of Snell & Wilmer, Mr. Black’s clients included many Fortune 500 companies, developers, retailers, investors and financial institutions. Mr. Black is a certified public accountant licensed in the State of Texas . Mr. Black holds a B.S degree, cum laude, from Brigham Young University , a Masters of Accountancy degree from Brigham Young University , and a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University . Mr. Black is also a member of the board of directors of The Utah Nonprofits Association, the umbrella membership association of 501(c)(3) organizations in Utah .

Brian Blood
Account Manager

Mr. Blood controls the accounting and reporting information and administrative needs at Fortius. He joins the team with over six years of account management and organizational experience. Formerly, Mr. Blood worked at True North Mortgage as an account manager. He also worked previously at IHC in the insurance reimbursement division where he was responsible for management and training of new and existing employees. Mr. Blood graduated with a degree in Finance and a minor in Economics from Utah State University.
